The Scottish Modern Pentathlon Association (SMPA) is recognised by sportscotland and the Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain as the official governing body for the sport of Modern Pentathlon within Scotland. The SMPA is responsible for the development of the Modern Pentathlon within Scotland. The Development Plan 2008 – 20012 was produced by the Board to apply and secure extra funding for the development of Modern Pentathlon in Scotland – the application was successful which has resulted in a substantial increase in the SMPA’s funding. The Grant is linked to the Development Plan to achieve our Primary Objectives set out in the Plan. Personal athlete funding is not covered by this Grant and is at present funded by the UK Governing Body under one of their funded programmes.   Primary Objectives   To develop Modern Pentathlon within Scotland and to give the appropriate support to Scottish Pentathletes four primary objectives are be targeted:-   Membership Competitive Success Increasing Awareness Corporate Governance
