Working Closer with Pentathlon-GB

The Board are delighted to announce that they have moved over to pentathlon-GB's insurance policy. This has a number of benefits. As well as saving pentathlon-scotland's the insurance premium it also opens up the way to allow pentathlon-GB members the opportunity to come to pathway training days and competitions without the need to join pentathlon-scotland. The Board believes this will help to strengthen the work the Association is doing with pentathlon-GB and will be for the benefit of our athletes. It will give our athletes the opportunity to train and compete against other talented athletes and thereby enhance their training and competition experiences.

How do I get started?

There are many levels of competition - starting at grass route level of the School's Biathlon - or any combination of two or more of the five displines of pentathlon. The introduction of the exciting combined event gives a climax to any competition where the run is combined with the shooting - visit 'What is Pentathlon' to find our more. Riding - you do not need your own horse - they are provided by the competition organiser but you do not even have to ride - there are events without riding. The swim is a time trial and points awarded for the time so speed is not necessarily the important factor, though the faster you go the more points you get!
